AI systems do not browse the way people do. They resolve entities. Before a model can recommend a business, it has to identify that business as a stable thing in the world, distinct from similarly named entities, with known attributes and corroborating references. Machine Trust Architecture is the discipline of making that resolution easy and unambiguous.
Completeness is a trust signal
An incomplete entity is a low-confidence entity. When a model cannot determine what you do, where you operate, or whether independent sources agree about you, it hedges, and a hedge is an answer that names someone else. The Entity Completion Score measures the fields that carry machine trust and surfaces the exact ones you are missing.
The fields that matter
Seven structured signals carry the weight. A canonical name disambiguates you. Category and expertise tell the model what you do. A precise locality unlocks local retrieval. FAQ schema answers buyer questions in machine-readable form. A clear description gives the model language to reuse. Verified external profiles, the sameAs graph, corroborate your identity. Aggregate ratings convert reputation into a signal a model can weigh.
The first five are usually derivable and publishable today. The last two, external corroboration and ratings, are where most entities have a real gap, and closing that gap is often the highest-leverage move available.
